PSVR2 is the best Sony has ever done and will win this generation
One reader praised PSVR2’s virtues, arguing that VR modes in future big games would give PlayStation a huge advantage over Xbox.
I get it. State of Play wasn’t very good. Frankly, it would probably have been better if Sony didn’t have this at all. However, Warner Bros. had already paid for advertising for Suicide His Squad months in advance, so Sony had no choice. Well, Suicide Squad stinks like a skunk eating garlic at the tip of the trash next to the oil factory, but that’s not Sony’s fault. Instead, I want to talk about something more positive. PlayStation VR2.
I’ve always been fascinated by VR, and owning both a PlayStation VR and a Meta Quest 2, I immediately pre-ordered the PlayStation VR2, even though it was a little strain on my wallet. I didn’t order the game because I wanted to wait for reviews. In the end, despite the mixed reactions, we decided to get Horizon Call Of The Mountain anyway, which we eventually agreed to. GC reviewwhich was little more than a technical demo and occasionally interesting.
A bit of wasted money burned, but this wasn’t the disappointment you might think, as the three best of the headsets are completely free: the Gran Turismo 7 update, resident evil Village, No Man’s Sky. It’s not good because it didn’t cost anything, but it could be the best video game experience ever.
Obviously I haven’t spent that much time with any of them yet, but Gran Turismo 7 Very real, but well… unreal. It’s hard to imagine that racing could be more realistic than this, especially when he’s using wheels and pedals. People have been saying that about video games for decades and of course they’re always wrong, but for me this is the Super Mario 64 moment and I feel like the whole technology of gaming is changing.
It’s not really doing anything new, but the original PlayStation VR was so compromised in terms of technology that it’s only now that the promise of VR has finally come true. , the graphics are much better than Meta Quest 2, so this is clearly the better option.
Resident Evil Village is a very scary game to play in VR instead of TV, isn’t it? Everything about it is terrifying. The immersion is amazing and the graphics look much better than I remember the first round. This is usually the opposite of what happens when games start to age. The way the guns work, the interaction with the environment, the torch, it’s all great and part of a complete game. Not his six hour demo like Call Of The Mountain.
No Man’s Sky is no different. This is obviously sci-fi for him, as he’s already wearing a space suit and often flying spaceships, but the sense of realism is about the same as in Gran Turismo 7. I haven’t played many games before playing in VR, so I’m still not familiar with all the things this game can do, but I feel like I’m an astronaut explorer discovering strange new worlds. , I feel.
The PlayStation VR2 is great, but what excites me most is the idea that many current and future games will be treated in a similar way. The idea that a new big-budget game coming out has a reasonable chance of turning into his VR experience of this quality is amazing, especially since third-person games can have similar benefits. All the more so if it is proven that
As for the hardware itself, I think it’s the best Sony has ever produced, but of course if they can convince the publisher to add a VR mode… honestly that generation That’s a big difference from the Xbox, and it’s also the difference from the previous generation.
Let’s hear it from someone who’s used it: PlayStation VR 2 is amazing, and if you can raise the money for it, I highly recommend it’s worth it. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Final Fantasy 16 hopefully hear about the VR mode soon.
