Sony proudly announced that the stock shortage is over, so you’ll never have to rely on scalpers for your PS5 again.

Despite being a huge sales success for Sony, before launching in 2020one of the key issues with the PlayStation 5 is its availability, or rather its lack.

At Sony’s CES 2023 press conference, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan took the stage to announce that December was the biggest month ever for PlayStation 5 console sales.

This is undoubtedly better inventory and Christmas time, with total global sales now in excess of 30 million.

Ryan said, “We are extremely grateful to the PlayStation community for their support and patience as we managed unprecedented demand amid global challenges over the past two years.

“From this point on, everyone who wants a PS5 should have a much easier time finding it in retail stores around the world,” Ryan said.

It will be interesting to see what Sony’s sales look like by this time next year. £30 price increase Last August, the standard and digital editions increased in price to £479.99 and £389.99 respectively.

However, as Ryan points out, the PlayStation 5 already has some major limited editions slated for this year that will no doubt boost sales. Final Fantasy 16 and Spider-Man 2 are the big ones, and there’s no doubt the company has more that hasn’t been announced yet.
