“BAWAAL” is scheduled to be released on July 21, 2023. BAWAAL is the story of a dysfunctional couple. Ajay Dixit aka Aju (Varun Dhawan) lives in Lucknow with his father (Manoj Pafa) and his mother. He strongly believes in maintaining his own image and aura. This strategy has paid off greatly…time for him. He is a school history teacher and despite not knowing much about the subject, he is able to maintain the perception that he is good at it. His marriage is arranged with Nisha (Yanvi Kapoor) and he agrees on the grounds that it helps him maintain his image. This is because Nisha ticks all the conditions. She was good looking, came from a prestigious family, and she had top grades in college. But Nisha has epilepsy. She confessed to Aju, adding that she had not had a seizure in 10 years. Aju accepts her condition as it will be fine. However, on the day of her wedding, Nisha has her seizure when she forgets to take her medicine. Aju is devastated and begins to distance himself, much to Nisha and his parents’ annoyance. Once, everyone was at odds with him about it and he left the house in a fuss. At school, when a student asked a World War II-related question, he slapped the student in anger and mocked Aju for not having an answer. Unfortunately for Aju, the child turned out to be the son of MLA (Mukesh Tiwari). Under pressure from the MLA, Aju is suspended. Realizing that his image has been tarnished, he devises a plan. He decided to take part in a trip to Europe and visit the places where the war was fought to educate his students about World War II. He has no money and his father will not sponsor his trip if he goes alone. Therefore, he tells Nisha to accompany him on the trip. How this trip changes their lives forms the rest of the film.
