Types of roller skates

Roller skates can be divided into several key groups. For example, for men, women and children. They, in turn, are usually divided into subgroups designed for different riding styles: fitness, slalom / freeskate, aggressive, off-road and cross-country. Each subgroup is designed for a specific type of skiing.

For example, fitness is like running. You come or drive to the park, put on your skates, and ride on special smooth tracks. In the vast majority of cases, such riding is nothing more than a walk in the fresh air to fight calories and have fun. By the way, the fight against calories turns out to be very effective – there are many examples when people “lost” 9-10 kg in 2-3 months using this method. Today it is becoming more and more popular to replace morning runs with roller skating. In our opinion, it is much more pleasant.

Slalom/freeskate skates are very different in design from fitness r. They have stiffer boots and hold the feet tighter. Not to say that they are less suitable for walking in the parks, but their main “sharpening” is moving around the city and slalom (figure skating around the cones). It’s also very good to ride in the parks, but it’s like riding a sports car through traffic jams – cool, but no different from the rest. But, where inline fitness skates are clumsy (slalom), or fall apart quickly (freeskate), such videos are just right! You can use such fitness rollerblades for all types of walks.

Aggressive skates are even more complicated skates. You can ride them both in the park and around the city (slalom “drawing” in them will not work very well), but at the same time they can also withstand monstrous loads. Where a skater will break his legs in fitness, and ruin his skates in slalom / freeskate, aggressive ones will “take out” almost any tricks. Their design features are the special reliability of a hard boot and small wheels with a flat surface.

Off-road rollers are a separate issue altogether. They were made for skaters who don’t want to bother looking for decent tarmac, let alone “smooth tracks” for fitness. These rollers can ride on almost any surface, due to the wheels, which are not made of polyurethane, but of … rubber, and are inflated with air.

A distinctive feature of such rollers are precisely such “rollers”, which can reach 15 cm in diameter. Of course, off-road skates are extremely unsuitable for slalom or aggressive tricks, but they allow you to almost not think about the quality of the road surface. You can safely ride in them on rolled gravel, on grass, on trodden ground, in general, on such surfaces where clearance allows you to drive. This is a real vehicle.

The last key type of inline skates are running rollers, or speed skate rollers . Fans of this type of roller skates, as a rule, are a fairly closed community, where there is no place for tricks and other pranks. Speed skaters tend to move around in closed areas. This type of skiing differs from all others in its huge speeds, often exceeding 40 km / h.
