Refreshing low calorie & nutritious summer drink
Nothing says summer like a lazy afternoon by the pool with a cold drink in hand. How many of you are like me, craving something cold all day? I’m annoyed, but I’ve thought of some low-calorie, healthy drinks. Try our refreshing drinks to beat the summer heat.
1. Coconut water
Coconut water is a beauty drink worth drinking all year round! The slightly sweet taste is refreshing, especially in summer. There’s a lot more to it than sipping coconut water after hot yoga or mixing it into your morning smoothie. Think popsicle sticks, puddings, and so on. Try adding crushed mint leaves and lime juice to your regular coconut water.
2. Peppermint tea
Peppermint tea is a delicious and relaxing drink with many health benefits.Whether you use tea bags or fresh leaves, you can make peppermint tea in a matter of minutes.Iced peppermint for summer parties Introducing a batch of tea is an invigorating experience. Here’s what you need:
- 3-5 mint tea bags (or 30 fresh peppermint leaves)
- 4 cups (32 oz) water
- Lemon and honey (optional)
3. Watermelon Lime Juice Cooler
This super refreshing watermelon lime cooler is the perfect way to beat the heat on a hot summer day.
Here’s what you need:
- 2 cups chilled watermelon chunks
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- ice cube
- a few basil or mint leaves
- 2 cups seltzer or club soda (240ml)
Blend watermelon chunks and lime juice in a blender. Serve chilled.
4. Cucumber mint squash
A zesty drink with detoxifying properties. The perfect blend for a hot afternoon!
Here’s what you need:
- mint leaves – 1 cup
- cucumber – 1/2 cup
- lemon juice – 1 1/2 tbsp
- water – 2 cups
- Honey – 1 tablespoon
- salt – 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Blend everything in a blender. After mixing, add lemon juice and mix well. Strain the juice through a sieve and check the seasoning. Add as needed. Serve chilled with ice cubes.
5. Strawberry Lemonade
Nothing beats homemade lemonade, just add strawberries to the mix!
Here’s what you need:
- 2 cups fresh strawberries
- 3/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, about 5 lemons
- cold water
- 1 extra lemon, thinly sliced
Place the strawberries and lemon juice in a blender and blend until the strawberries are liquid. Pour the juice into a 1/2 gallon pitcher, add the lemon slices, and fill with cold water. Do not overfill the pitcher with water.
