Pokémon Unite Unveils Ho-Oh’s Move Set

Pokémon Unite has unveiled the move set for Ho-Oh, the Fire/Flying-type Legendary Pokémon, set to join the game with its third anniversary update on July 19. In Pokémon Unite, Ho-Oh will wield a range of powerful fire-based abilities that inflict various debuffs on enemy Pokémon.

Developed by TiMi Studio Group and The Pokémon Company, Pokémon Unite is a competitive MOBA available on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. In this game, teams of five players battle to score points by depositing energy into the enemy’s goal zones. Energy is accumulated by defeating wild Pokémon and opponents, allowing players to gain XP, unlock new abilities, and enhance their Pokémon. The game regularly adds new playable Pokémon.

The Pokémon Company has released a trailer showcasing Ho-Oh’s full move set. As a ranged defender with a novice difficulty level, Ho-Oh is accessible to new players. Among its abilities, Ho-Oh features Regenerator, a special healing power that gradually restores HP if Ho-Oh remains undamaged for a period. The Fly ability lets Ho-Oh move over obstacles, boosting movement speed and attack power, while dealing damage to nearby foes upon landing. Fire Spin generates a fiery vortex around Ho-Oh, dealing damage and slowing nearby enemies, and provides a temporary shield with a heat wave that inflicts additional damage.

Ho-Oh’s Flamethrower ability, inspired by its Incinerate move in Pokémon GO, spreads flames that reduce the damage output of enemy attacks and special moves. Prolonged use of Flamethrower increases its cooldown, and burned Pokémon experience reduced movement speed and leave a damaging trail.

Sky Attack, similar to Fly, allows Ho-Oh to soar through the air, leaving a scorching trail that damages and slows enemies. Ho-Oh’s Unite Attack, Rekindling Flame, can revive fallen allies by dispersing feathers and consuming Aeos energy.

With Ho-Oh’s addition, the third anniversary update is set to alter the Pokémon Unite meta. The game frequently introduces new events and updates, promising more new Pokémon in the future.
