DCU and Matt Reeves’ BatVerse to be developed as separate entities

Batman director Matt Reeves has spoken with DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran about how the DCU and the two universes now called BatVerse will run side by side. We are planning to discuss whether it will be developed.

talk ColliderReeves confirmed that Batman-led BatVerse starring Robert Pattinson will be Its own universe separate from the reworks currently taking place in DC under new leadership.

“[Gunn and Safran] Reeves said, “They want to talk to me about their broader plans, so we’re actually meeting in the next few weeks, and then I’d like to hear about BatVerse’s plans.

“We got together to talk about all of that. Look, I’m looking forward to hearing what they’re going to do. The BatVerse thing, like James said, Peter said And it’s kind of unique… what they let us do.”

According to Reeves, Batman will likely also appear in Gunn and Saffron’s DCU, so the meeting essentially keeps the two universes from overlapping.

“They’ll tell me what they’re doing in their 10-year plan or what they’re doing in the near future. We want to run into each other,” Reeves added. “We want to support each other.”
