After an unforeseen hiatus lasting nearly seven months, Aerosmith is gearing up to hit the road again this autumn with their much-anticipated “Peace Out” farewell tour.
The legendary rock band took to their official Instagram page on Wednesday to express their excitement in unveiling the revised itinerary for the tour. Set to commence in Pittsburgh, PA on September 20, the tour will span until February 26 of the following year, concluding with a final performance in Buffalo, NY. Adding to the excitement, The Black Crowes will reprise their role as special guests alongside Aerosmith throughout the tour.
The journey towards this resumption of performances began in September 2023 when Aerosmith’s iconic lead singer, Steven Tyler, encountered a vocal cord injury. The band promptly announced the postponement of the remainder of their 2023 “Peace Out” farewell tour dates after completing only three shows.
In a statement shared on Aerosmith’s Facebook page, the band revealed the severity of Tyler’s injury: “To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care.”
Tyler, in a personal message to his devoted fans, expressed his deep regret at being unable to continue performing with Aerosmith and The Black Crowes, vowing to return at the earliest opportunity.
Now, with Tyler on the mend and the band ready to rock once more, the rescheduled “Peace Out” tour promises to be both a celebration of Aerosmith’s remarkable 50-year journey and a poignant farewell to their touring days.
For fans holding tickets from the postponed shows, there’s good news: all previously purchased tickets will be valid for the rescheduled performances. Tickets for the upcoming shows will be available for purchase starting this Friday at 10 a.m. local time, ensuring that fans across North America can secure their spot for this unforgettable farewell tour.
